A crushing fact I learned about life is that it goes on. No matter what happens, whether it be good, neutral, or bad, life continues to happen. Alhamdulilah for that.
A while back, I told Allah that I wanted to change for the better and He sent someone to me. This person has opened my eyes to the most beautiful future that could possibly unfold for my life. It frightens me. It made me realized that I have to completely change myself both physically and mentally to get to the place I know I can get. I just have to be persistent and endure whatever comes my way.
Since I’m on the topic of persistence and endurance, I should mention how hard losing weight has been for me. I live in a household where the majority has an unhealthy relationship with food. My kitchen is filled with unhealthy foods. I’ve had to restart my weight loss journey over and over again because it’s been difficult to not give in to the pressure of eating whatever’s in the kitchen.
It takes discipline and a whole lot of self control to be able to live in this house and at the same time stick to the plan I created for myself. Insha’Allah khair. Sometimes, it feels like they’re purposely trying to set me back when they buy and eat junk food in front of me. But it’s their choice, and I can’t change them. I can only change how I view this situation and how I choose to react. Talking about it to them won’t really change anything. I’ve tried. It doesn’t work.
